Ukraine/Russland/NATO – der Sammler am 7. Juli 2022

We have already noted that Ukraine and other post-Soviet states have become a testing ground for biological weapons not only for the USA, but also for its NATO allies; on the first place, Germany. Various projects have been carried out on behalf of the Joint Medical Service of the German Armed Forces.
Bundeswehr professionals paid particular attention to the Congo-Crimean fever pathogen. A large-scale screening of the susceptibility of the local population to this infection was carried out and included summarising demographic, epidemiological and clinical data. This kind of approaches allows to identify new regional virus genotypes and to select strains that cause latent clinical forms.
The study of natural foci of Crimean-Congo fever was carried out under the pretext of improving the Ukrainian epidemiological surveillance system, with the participation of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine in Kiev and the Mechnikov Anti-Plague Institute in Odessa.
Bundeswehr’s interest in Crimean-Congo fever stems from the fact that mortality can be as high as 30% and its outbreaks create a need for lengthy and costly treatment, preventive and special handling measures.
This is a quote from Bundeswehr’s instructions: ‚…pay particular attention to fatal cases of infection with Crimean-Congo fever as it allows the virus strains with maximum pathogenicity and virulence for humans to be extracted from the dead individuals…‘

On 06 July 2022, heavy shelling continued along the Donetsk front line, but with few advances being made by Russia. Russian units involved in last week’s gains are now likely re-constituting.
On 05 July 2022, a law proposed by the Russian government on ‘special economic measures’ passed its first reading in the Duma.
The legislation is likely to be adopted and will give the authorities special powers over labour relations; the reactivation of mobilisation facilities; and to release assets from state reserves.
The legislation is likely an attempt by the Kremlin to put into place economic measures to support the ‘special military operation’ without a formal declaration of state mobilisation, which remains politically sensitive.
It also allows Russia to avoid acknowledging that it is engaged in a war or its failure to overcome Ukraine’s military that was outnumbered and outgunned.

• Das russische Außenministerium veröffentlichte am Donnerstag ebenfalls ein Ukraine-Update:

The special military operation in Ukraine continues. Russian troops, in conjunction with the self-defence forces from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, are on a mission to demilitarise and denazify Ukraine, to liberate Donbass and to eliminate threats to Russia coming from that country. Many towns have been liberated from Ukrainian neo-Nazis and foreign mercenaries and are returning to peaceful life.
On July 3, the allied forces established full control over Lisichansk and its suburbs, thus fully liberating the LPR from the neo-Nazis. Relief efforts are underway to deal with the aftermath of the hostilities, as water and energy supplies and economic activity are being restored and transport service is being resumed. Kindergartens, outpatient clinics and hospitals will reopen soon.
Mariupol is being rebuilt at a fast pace. Military construction specialists from the Russian Defence Ministry are taking part in this effort. Residential buildings and civil infrastructure facilities are being built fast. Military builders are saying over 1,000 flats will be built before the end of the year.
Kiev is trying in every way to obstruct the efforts to restore peaceful life in the liberated territories and to intimidate their residents. The intimidation methods remain the same and include massive MLRS and large-caliber artillery strikes on urban and rural areas. Reports about the resumption of regular road and rail passenger traffic between Melitopol and Crimea were apparently taken by the Ukrainian command as a signal to shell that city in the Zaporozhye region. Dozens of long-range missiles were fired at it during the night of July 1. The coordinated actions of the air defence forces helped avoid tragic consequences.
Donetsk and its suburbs came under an even larger and more brutal strike on July 4. The Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted children’s and medical institutions, grocery stores, farmer’s markets, factories and residential buildings. In all, about 500 mines and shells were fired, most of them of NATO calibre. The ammunition used in the attacks and the artillery mounts came to Ukraine from the United States, Great Britain, Canada, and Australia. Unfortunately, tragic loss of life ensued. The shelling continued into July 5.
The death of civilians, including children, does not seem to stop anyone in the West. On July 1, that is, literally just before the barbaric bombings of the DPR, Washington announced a new round of military assistance to Ukraine for buying ammunition for MLRS and other types of long-range artillery. In all, over the past two weeks, the United States has confirmed its plans to spend more than $2.3 billion on these needs. In turn, in a telephone conversation with President Zelensky, the British prime minister promised to send 10 new self-propelled gun mounts to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and loitering munitions soon.
The West is not going to abandon its strategy of further escalating the situation in Ukraine which was confirmed during the NATO summit on June 28-29 which decided to provide a reinforced support package for Kiev. The facts show what they mean by that. Massive arms supplies are heading to Ukraine in an uninterrupted flow. More than 28,000 tonnes of military cargo have already been delivered. The European allies of Ukraine are actively encouraging the Kiev regime’s militaristic aspirations. Their donor conferences that are formally designed to help raise funds for the reconstruction of the country are intended to fulfill this goal. In fact, we are talking about raising funds for pressing on with hostilities against Russia. This was the case in late February and early May, when Great Britain and then Poland took action to jumpstart Western countries’ efforts to fund arms supplies and provide Ukraine with other kinds of military assistance. Apparently, the latest donor forum in Lugano, Switzerland, held on July 4-5 was no exception. Kiev’s foreign curators have again expressed their willingness to shell out some money and showed no sign of seeking a peaceful settlement.
All of this goes to show the importance of demilitarising Ukraine and liberating it from neo-Nazis who continue to terrorise the people of Donbass and to generate threats to Russia’s security. The special military operation is aimed at fulfilling these goals.

• Das Abendbriefing des ukrainischen Generalstabs:

Operational update regarding the #russian_invasion as of 18:00 on July 07, 2022
The one hundred thirty-fourth (134) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.
Glory to Ukraine! No changes in the condition, composition and nature of actions of units of the armed forces of the republic of belarus were noted in the Volyn and Polissya directions. There is still a threat of missile and bomb attacks from the territory of this country.
In the Siversky direction, the enemy, in order to demonstrate their presence, shelled the areas of Vovkivka, Kindrativka, and Myropillya of the Sumy region with artillery. In addition, it carried out airstrikes near Esmani and Myropillya.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues to concentrate efforts on holding positions and preventing the advancement of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine deep into the temporarily occupied territory. During the day, tanks, barrel and rocket artillery were used to shell settlements in the Kharkiv oblast along the contact line.
Our soldiers nullified all the enemy’s attempts to advance in the direction of Sosnivka. The assault was repulsed, and the occupiers retreated to their previously occupied positions.
In the east of our country, the enemy is still trying to establish complete control over the territory of the Luhansk oblast.
In the Slovyansk direction, the occupiers again unsuccessfully stormed Bohorodichne, trying to capture it completely. Our soldiers harshly suppressed this next attempt.
The enemy carries out fire damage with barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Sulyhivka, Chervone, Nikopol, Novopavlivka, Karnaukhivka, Adamivka, Krasnopillya, Bogorodychne, Mazanivka, Dibrivne and Dolyna. Attack and army aircraft were used for strikes near Dolyna.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts at assaults in the Hryhorivka and Verkhnokamyansk directions.
The occupiers shelled the areas of Mayaki, Siversk, Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Zolotarivka and Zvanivka settlements with barrel and jet artillery. An enemy airstrike was recorded in the Serebryanka area.
In the direction of Bakhmut, Ukrainian soldiers inflicted losses on the enemy when it tried to improve his tactical position near Vershyna and Berestove. The enemy retreated in panic.
The areas of the settlements of Vyimka, Ivanodar’ivka, Spirne, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Pokrovske, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Klynove, Vershina, Kodema, Mayorsk, and New York were shelled with barrel artillery and rocket jet systems. Enemy used army aviation near Shumy. It is fixed on the outskirts of the settlement of Spirne.
In the Avdiyivka, Kurakhivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzia directions, mutual shelling from barrel and rocket artillery continues along the contact line.
The enemy attacked with attack aircraft near Kamianske.
The situation in the South Buh direction has not undergone significant changes. Enemy units continue to hold occupied positions and fire at the positions of units of our troops with available weapons.
The statements of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation about the alleged death of Ukrainian soldiers who were cleaning and installing Ukrainian flags on Zmiiny Island are not true.
In the waters of the Black and Azov seas, the enemy keeps up to six carriers of high-precision weapons ready for use. The total number of sea-based cruise missiles of the „Caliber“ type can be up to 40 units.
The enemy continues to suffer significant losses of personnel, weapons and military equipment on the territory of Ukraine. Thus, according to available information, the command of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is forced to withdraw units from the 35th separate motorized rifle brigade. Instead, he is trying to attract unmotivated units of the 74th separate motorized rifle brigade.
Forced mobilization of personnel in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region continues. The mobilized have weak training and unsatisfactory equipment with means of protection. At present, the current shortage of units of the 2nd Army Corps of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is about 8,000 people.
