Rumänien schießt erneut Drohne über NATO-Territorium ab

Einen Tag, nachdem rumänische Kampfjets eine russische Drohne über dem Territorium des NATO-Landes abgeschossen hatten, wurde erneut ein unbemanntes Flugsystem über Rumänien abgeschossen. Wie am Vortag erreichte am (heutigen) Samstagmorgen eine rumänische F-16 die Vernichtung – offensichtlich war es der selbe Pilot wie am Freitag.

Aus der Mitteilung des Verteidigungsministeriums in Bukarest:

Second Drone Shot Down by a Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon Aircraft
On Saturday, July 25th, at 08:22, the radar surveillance systems of the Romanian Ministry of National Defence detected another unauthorized penetration of the national airspace by a drone operating in the vicinity of the Ukrainian border.
Two Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft conducting Air Policing Service intercepted the aerial target and carried out the standard identification and neutralization procedures.
The drone was safely shot down in an unpopulated area near the border.
Romanian Ministry of National Defence teams will deploy to the impact site to conduct the necessary investigations.
The Ministry of National Defence continues to closely monitor the airspace situation and remains in close coordination with Allied structures.

Nach rumänischen Medienberichten nannte Präsident Nicușor Dan eine dünnbesiedelte Region im Donaudelta an der Schwarzmeerküste als Abschussort (s. Karte oben):

President Nicușor Dan announced the interception shortly after it occurred. “This morning, at 8:30 a.m., another drone was shot down in Romanian airspace, approximately 10 kilometers west of Sfântu Gheorghe (Danube Delta). The drone was brought down by a Romanian pilot flying an F-16,” the president said.

Zudem sei bei diesem Einsatz der selbe Pilot, der am Vortag die erkannte Drohne abgeschossen hatte, erneut erfolgreich gewesen.
