• Das Atomkraftwerk Saporischja ist – erneut – vom Stromnetz abgeschnitten und braucht für den internen Betrieb, nicht zuletzt für die Kühlung, Strom aus Generatoren. Der Generalsekretär der Internationalen Atomenergieagentur (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, zeigte sich ziemlich besorgt:

Erst am (gestrigen) Dienstag hatte Grossi mit dem russischen Präsidenten Wladimir Putin über die Kontrolle dieses – russisch besetzten – ukrainischen Kernkraftwerks gesprochen:

Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi today met with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of the IAEA’s efforts to prevent a nuclear accident during the current military conflict in Ukraine, stressing the urgent need to establish a safety and security protection zone around the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). Russia has deployed Iranian manufactured uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) since at least August 2022, including the one-way attack Shahed-136 variant.
Russia included Shahed variants among the extensive wave of strikes it conducted on 10 October 2022. Previously, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russia had launched a total of 86 Shahed-136s and claimed that 60 per cent had been destroyed in the air.
These UAVs are slow and fly at low altitudes making lone aircraft easy to target using conventional air defences. There is a realistic possibility that Russia has achieved some success by attacking with several UAVs at the same time.
Despite a reported range of 2,500 km, the Shahed-136 only has a small explosive payload. It is unlikely to be satisfactorily fulfilling the deep strike function which Russia probably aspired to use it for.
With Russian tactical combat jets still achieving limited effect over Ukrainian territory, the lack of a reliable, sustainable, and accurate operational-level strike capability is likely one of Russia’s most significant capability gaps in Ukraine.

The two hundred-thirty-first (231) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military large-scale invasion continues.
The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, is concentrating its efforts on trying to stop the counter-offensive actions of the Defence Forces in separate directions and attempts of offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.
The enemy continues shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line, carries out remote mining of the territory in certain areas and conducts aerial reconnaissance. Attacks civilian infrastructure and civilian homes, violating international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war. Thus, during the past day, the occupiers launched one ballistic and twenty-eight cruise missiles, twenty of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defence units.
The enemy carried out thirteen airstrikes and launched more than forty MLRS attacks. Objects and civilian population of more than forty settlements were affected by these criminal actions. Among them are Lviv, Popivka, Chuhunivka, Ladyzhyn, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Pavlohrad and Nikopol. Also, the enemy used fourteen iranian kamikaze drones to attack critical infrastructure in Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts, twelve of these UAVs were destroyed.
There remains the threat of air and missile strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly.
lukashenko declares the readiness of the republic of belarus to provide assistance to the russian federation in the war against Ukraine. In other directions, the enemy fired mortars, tanks, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of populated areas:
in the Siversky direction – Senkivka of Chernihiv oblast and Seredyna-Buda, Novovasylivka and Sorokyne of Sumy oblast;
in the Slobozhansk direction – Strilecha, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Vovchanski Khutory, Starytsa, Dvorichna and Dvorichne;
in the Kramatorsk direction – Pershotravneve, Kovalivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebryanka, Bilohorivka and Siversk;

on the Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia directions – Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Mali Shcherbaki, Orihiv and Chervone.
In the South Buh direction, the enemy continues shelling the positions of our units to deter the counterattack along the entire contact line. Areas of more than twenty settlements were affected by fire. In particular, Velyke Artakove, Davidiv Brid, Blahodativka, Sukhy Stavok, Shyroke, Ternovi Pody, Soldatske, Pravdyne and Myrne.
According to available information, the occupiers in the Kherson oblast continue to raid agricultural enterprises, conduct an inventory of assets there and re-register them under russian legislation.
Over the past day, units of the Defence Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of Mykolaivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Pervomaiske and Krasnohorivka.
As a result of the successful actions of the Defence Forces of Ukraine and due to the large number of wounded, there is a shortage of medical workers in the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk region. In order to replenish the staff of hospitals, the self-proclaimed leadership of the region sent a request for the secondment of medical personnel from the central and eastern regions of the russian federation.
The Ukrainian aviation carried out fifteen strikes during the day. Thirteen areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as two enemy air defence systems, have been damaged.
Over the past day, missile forces and artillery have hit twelve control points, seventeen areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, four ammunition warehouses, as well as more than twenty other important enemy facilities.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
Main effort of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at Kupyansk direction was concentrated on capturing the settlement of Kislovka attacked by 3 Ukrainian company tactical groups and foreign mercenaries simultaneously from 3 directions.
The enemy succeeded in wedging into the defence and reaching the western suburbs of the settlement.
Intense action of our forces and concentrated fire of Russian artillery have resulted in dislodging the Ukrainian units from the suburbs of Kislovka, scattering and driving them back to their initial positions.
The positions of Russian units at the forefront have been recovered.
Moreover, the enemy was made unsuccessful attempts to launch an offensive by up to 3 companies towards Tabayevka, Orlyanka (Kharkov region) and Kuzemovka (LPR).
All the attacks have been successfully repelled by Russian forces.
Total casualties suffered by the AFU and mercenaries at the abovementioned direction constitute over 100 personnel, 4 tanks, 3 infantry combat vehicles and 3 Turkish-manufactured Kirpi armoured personnel carriers.
New unsuccessful enemy’s attempts to cross Zherebets river have been prevented near Raygorodok, Karmazinovka, Rozovka, Makeyevka and Novolyubovka (LPR) at Krasny Liman direction.
Up to 3 infantry combat vehicles, 2 armoured motor vehicles and about 60 Ukrainian personnel have been eliminated.
Russian units have repelled an attempt of the AFU to launch an attack by manpower of up to a platoon supported by vehicles near Novodarovka at Zaporozhye direction.
7 Ukrainian personnel and 1 armoured motor vehicle have been eliminated.
The enemy made attempts to launch an attack by up to 2 battalions at Novovoskresenskoye, Velikaya Aleksandrovka and Sukhanovo (Kherson region) at Krivoy Rog direction.
Russian units have successfully repelled all the attacks.
1 tank, 16 armoured combat vehicles, 4 motor vehicles and over 70 Ukrainian personnel have been eliminated.
Russian forces have launched a fire attack at the AFU units that were redeploying to launch attacks towards Kostromka and Ishchenka (Kherson region) at Andreyevka direction.
2 tanks, 3 armoured motor vehicles, 5 pickups and over 90 Ukrainian personnel have been eliminated.
Moreover, pre-emptive fire attack has resulted in the destruction of 4 AFU ferries detected by reconnaissance units across Ingulets river and frustration of redeployment of Ukrainian reserve forces to the operations area.
Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery have neutralised AFU command posts near Velikaya Kostromka (Dnepropetrovsk region), Konstantinovka (DPR) and Lezhino (Zaporozhye region), 41 artillery units at their firing positions, 156 manpower and military equipment concentration areas.
The headquarters of Right Sector nationalist group, 1 signal station of Azov nationalist group and 2 provisional bases of foreign mercenaries have been neutralised near Zaporozhye.
1 storage of fuel for Ukrainian military equipment has been destroyed near Nikolayev.
1 Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defence missile system has been destroyed near Shevchenkovo (Nikolayev region).
Fighter aviation of Russian Aerospace Forces has shot down 1 Su-24 airplane of Ukrainian Air Force near Khristoforovka (Nikolayev region).
1 Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter has been shot down near Velikaya Aleksandrovka (Kherson region).
Air defence facilities have destroyed 4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Novaya Kamenka, Sadok (Kherson region), Yavkino (Nikolayev region) and Polnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).
12 projectiles launched by HIMARS MLRS have been intercepted near Burgunka (Kherson region) and Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
In total, 319 airplanes and 161 helicopters, 2,199 unmanned aerial vehicles, 380 air defence missile systems, 5,677 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 868 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 3,465 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 6,496 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

• Am Rande des Treffens der NATO-Verteidigungsminister und der Unterstützergruppe für die Ukraine im so genannten Ramstein-Format in Brüssel kündigte die niederländische Ministerin Kajsa Ollongren die Lieferung von Raketen (Flugkörpern?) zur Raketenabwehr an. Aus ihrem Schreiben an das niederländische Parlament:

Die russischen Anschläge zeigen einmal mehr, dass die Notwendigkeit und Dringlichkeit unserer militärischen Unterstützung für die Ukraine hoch bleibt, einschließlich der Stärkung der ukrainische Luftverteidigung und Raketenabwehr. During the day, the occupiers launched 3 rocket and 4 air strikes, fired up to 10 MLRS attacks.
Objects and peaceful citizens of more than 10 settlements were hit by the enemy. Among them are Mali Shcherbaky, Ochakiv, Nikopol and Myrne. Infrastructural facilities in Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv Oblasts were affected. For strikes, the enemy used cruise, aviation and anti-aircraft guided missiles. In addition, the occupiers continue to use Iranian-made Shahed-136 unmanned aerial vehicles. Ten of them were destroyed by the forces and means of air defence of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

in the Kramatorsk direction – from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery along the entire line of contact. In particular, in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Serebryanka, Spirne, Terny and Torske. The enemy mines bridge crossings;

The enemy did not carry out offensive actions in the Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia directions. More than 20 settlements were affected by fire. Among them are Novosilka, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Vremivka, Malynivka, Neskuchne, Orihiv, Charivne and Olhivske.
More than 40 settlements along the entire contact line were shelled in the South Buh region. The enemy is trying to compensate for significant losses at the expense of new batches of mobilized citizens of the russian federation who have undergone accelerated training.
Over the past day, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Novosadove, Bakhmutske, Ivanhrad, Bakhmut, Soledar, Spirne, Mayorsk and Krasnohorivka.
Up to five hundred mobilized military personnel from the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 49th Combined Arms Army were deployed to the combat zone to replenish the enemy’s losses in the temporarily captured territories. Characteristic signs of the so-called „young replenishment“: protective equipment, soviet-style helmets and AK-12 assault rifles, which have a very negative experience of use.
For reference: AK-12 was created by the Kalashnikov concern and presented to the general public in January 2012. It was fundamentally new, but implemented using the general scheme and technical solutions of former AKs. The experience of combat use during the battles in Ukraine turned out to be so negative that after a few weeks of real operation, it was proposed to actually de-modernize this type of weapon.
Training for 200 demobilized servicemen is ongoing at the base of the 3rd Guards Special Forces Brigade. In the brigade itself, after participating in the war against Ukraine, every second person wrote reports for dismissal or early termination of the contract.
Aviation of the Defence Forces made 27 strikes. Damage to more than 20 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as 6 anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy, has been confirmed. In addition, our air defence units shot down 10 UAVs and 4 enemy helicopters.
Missile troops and artillery hit 3 control points, 10 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, and 4 ammunition depots. In addition, air defense and electronic defense positions and other military targets also fell into the zone of fire damage.
