Russia has highly likely deployed Iranian uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV) in Ukraine for the first time. On 13 September 2022, Ukrainian officials reported that their forces had shot down a Shahed-136 UAV near Kupiansk, in the area of Ukraine’s successful ongoing offensive.
The Shahed-136 is a one-way attack UAV with a claimed range of 2,500 kilometres. Similar Iranian-manufactured systems have likely been used in attacks in the Middle East, including against the oil tanker MT MERCER STREET in July 2021.
Russia is almost certainly increasingly sourcing weaponry from other heavily sanctioned states like Iran and North Korea as its own stocks dwindle.
The loss of a Shahed-136 near the front lines suggests there is a realistic possibility that Russia is attempting to use the system to conduct tactical strikes rather than against more strategic targets farther into Ukrainian territory.

The two hundred-third (203) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.
The enemy continues to focus its efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Donetsk oblast, hold the captured territories and disrupt the active actions of our troops in certain areas.
Shelling of the positions of our units along the contact line continues, the enemy is trying to take measures to regroup his troops in separate directions, conducts aerial reconnaissance. There remains the threat of air and missile strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine.
The enemy did not stop attacks on the homes of civilians and civil infrastructure objects, violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war. The infrastructure of more than 33 settlements was damaged by air strikes, missile strikes, and shelling from anti-aircraft missiles, including Kharkiv, Lozova, Siversk, Bilohorivka, Mykolaivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve, Yuryivka, New York , Pervomaiske, Kamianka, Vremivka, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaki, Suhy Stavok, Kostromka, Bila Krynytsia and Myrne.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian occupiers have launched 3 missile strikes, 33 air strikes and fired 58 rocket artillery strikes at military and civilian targets on the territory of Ukraine.

russian occupiers are staying in the homes of local residents in the settlements of Chaplin district of the Kherson oblast, in some places evicting the owners from the house.
russian army suffers significant manpower losses every day and tries to compensate them in different ways. The military leadership continues to search for those willing to fight among prisoners, in particular in the colonies of the Tula region. Recruiters promise convicts to have their criminal records removed in exchange for 3 months of service, for recidivists or those convicted of particularly serious crimes, the term of service will be 6 months. However, no contracts are signed with interested parties. Recruitment of so-called „reservists“ to the 3rd Army Corps is also ongoing. Among the already recruited personnel, there is a large number of people with drug and alcohol addiction. Also, the fact of forced mobilization in the city of Horlivka shows the problems with staffing units, local so-called „military commissars“ were tasked with the „militia“ to recruit 6,000 people by August 19. The search and arrest of men continues in the city, which in turn causes mass dissatisfaction among local residents.
Defense forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Spirne, Mayorsk, Odradivka, Vesela Dolyna, Vodyane, Avdiivka, Bezimenne and Novohrihorivka settlements.
During the day, in order to support the actions of the land groupings, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 12 strikes on the places of concentration of the enemy’s manpower and equipment.
In addition, air defense units of our troops destroyed two enemy aircraft (Su-25 and Su-24M), one Mi-8 helicopter and an unmanned aerial vehicle in various directions.
Units of the Missile Forces and artillery inflicted damage on 9 command and control points of the brigade and battalion levels and on 3 areas of concentration of manpower and combat equipment of the enemy. The losses of the russian occupiers are currently being determined.

8 Ukrainian tanks, 13 infantry combat vehicles, 11 other armoured vehicles and over 150 Ukrainian servicemen have been eliminated within unsuccessful offensive of the 24th, 28th mechanised, 46th Airmobile and 60th Infantry brigades of the AFU near Mirnoye, Sukhoi Stavok, Belogorka, Bruskinskoye, Olgino (Kherson region) and Ternoviye Pody (Nikolayev region) at the Nikolayev-Krivoy Rog direction.
High-precision attacks launched by Russian aviation at the temporary deployment points of the 53rd, 54th and 110th Mechanised brigades, 128th Territorial Defence Brigade and 68th Infantry Brigade of the AFU near Seversk, Verkhnekamenskoye, Nikolskoye, Avdeyevka, Novokalinovo, Petrovskoye, Novosyolka and Vremevka (Donetsk People’s Republic) have resulted in the elimination of up to 250 Ukrainian servicemen and over 20 units of military equipment.
The positions of the 65th Mechanised and 68th Chaser Infantry brigades near Novosyolovka and Dobropolye (Zaporozhye region), up to 70 Ukrainian servicemen and 5 units of military equipment have been eliminated as a result of high-precision strikes of the Russian Air Force.
Massive fire attacks have been launched at the manpower and military equipment of the 14th and 93rd mechanised brigades of the AFU near Dvurechnaya, Balakleya and Kupyansk (Kharkov region). The enemy has lost up to 150 Ukrainian servicemen and over 10 units of military equipment.
Сombat and temporary deployment positions of the 25th Airborne Brigade, 9th National Guard Regiment, 56th and 61st mechanised infantry brigades of the AFU, 103rd Territorial Defenсe Brigade, Kraken national group near Zoryanoye, Nikolayevka, Krivaya Luka and Ray-Aleksandrovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Kamyshevakha (Zaporozhye region) and Ternovka (Nikolayev region) have been struck by operational-tactical aviation, missile troops and artillery.
4 missile, artillery armament and munitions depots near Seversk and Raigorodok (Donetsk People’s Republic) and the cities of Kharkov and Izyum (Kharkov region) have been destroyed.
1 Ukrainian combat vehicle for Uragan MRLS has been destroyed near Krasny Liman (Donetsk People’s Republic).
1 U.S.-manufactured counter-battery interception radar (AN/TPQ-64) and 1 radar for illumination and guidance of Ukrainian S-300 air defence missile system near Lepetikha and Lozovoye (Nikolayev region) have been destroyed.
1 Mi-8 helicopter with a sabotage and reconnaissance group on board near the Kinburn logjam (Kherson region) has been destroyed by fighter aviation of the Russian Air Force.
4 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Maksim Gorky, Ukrainka (Kherson region) and Svetloye (Zaporozhye region), as well as 1 Tochka-U ballistic missile near Aleksandrovka (Kherson region) have been shot down by air defence means.
In addition, 33 shells of MRLS, including 7 projectiles launched by Olkha systems have been intercepted near Kiselyovka, Burgunki (Kherson region) and Donetsk, as well as 26 launched by HIMARS near Musikovka, Novaya Kakhovka, Vesyoloye, Rakovka, Tomarino, Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, Antonovka bridge (Kherson region) and Staromlinovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
In total, 293 airplanes and 155 helicopters, 1,948 unmanned aerial vehicles, 374 air defence missile systems, 4,921 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 835 combat vehicles equipped with MRLS, 3,386 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 5,552 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

The enemy continues to focus its efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Donetsk oblast, hold the captured territories and disrupt the offensive actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions.
The enemy carries out fire damage to the positions of our units along the entire contact line, tries to recover the lost position, moves his troops and conducts aerial reconnaissance.
The enemy continues to terrorize the civilian population of Ukraine, violating the laws and customs of warfare. The infrastructure of more than 15 settlements, including Bilohorivka, Spirne, Verkhnyokamyanske, Stepove, Sukhyi Stavok, Bilohirka, Bezymennyi, and Mala Seyidemynukha, were damaged by air and missile strikes. At night, the enemy launched rocket attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Mykolayiv and Kramatorsk. In general, during the current day, 8 missile strikes, 4 air strikes and 15 attacks from the enemy’s MLRS were recorded.
The threat of air and missile strikes remains throughout the territory of Ukraine.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly.
In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Senkivka and Bleshnya in Chernihiv oblast and Stepne and Novovasylivka in Sumy oblast with tanks, mortars and artillery.
In the Kharkiv direction, the intensity of enemy shelling decreased significantly. The settlements of Basove and Kupyansk were affected by the fire strikes.
In other directions, the enemy fired at military and civilian infrastructure from tanks, mortars, and artillery, namely:
in the Kramatorsk direction – in the areas of Yaremivka, Tetyanivka, Raihorodok, Dronivka, Kryva Luka, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Zvanivka, Spirne and Bilohorivka;
in the Bakhmut direction – in the areas of Mykolayivka, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Mykolayivka Druha, Zaitseve, New York, Yuryivka and Vesele;
in the Avdiyivka direction – Umanske, Avdiyivka, Pervomayiske, Vodyane, Opytne, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka;
in the Zaporizhzhiaya direction – the settlements of Bohoyavlenka, Zelene Pole, Novopil, Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Poltavka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Orihiv and Mali Shcherbaky;
in the Southern Buh direction – in the areas of the settlements of Visokopillya, Zarichne, Kamyane, Arkhanhelske, Partyzanske, Andriyivka, Bilohirka, Sukhy Stavok, Ternovi Pody, Blahodatne, Myrne and Tavriyske.
As a result of the successful actions of the Defense Forces and the destruction of a large number of enemy personnel, the morale and psychological state of the occupiers is extremely low. The command of the units of the occupying forces tries to force the personnel to participate in combat operations by threatening to send them to the frontline positions without weapons. As a result, up to 50 mobilized servicemen of the occupation forces from the city of Horlivka wrote reports on their refusal to further participate in hostilities.
In order to preserve some samples of military equipment, the command of the enemy’s air defense units is trying to organize the evacuation of air defense systems deep into the temporarily captured territories and into the territory of the russian federation. Thus, on the night of September 11-12, in the Luhansk region, convoys with S-300 and Buk complexes were spotted moving from the settlement of Lutuhyne in the direction of the russian-Ukrainian border.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy does not stop trying to advance deep into our territory. Defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Spirne, Soledar, Mayorsk, Zaitseve, Odradivka, Vesela Dolyna, Vodyane and Novomykhayilivka settlements.
During the current day, in order to support the actions of land groupings, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 11 strikes – six positions and places of accumulation of enemy manpower and equipment, three positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, and one enemy plane were shot down.
Units of the Missile Forces and Artillery inflicted damage on command and control points, areas of concentration of manpower and combat equipment of the enemy. In addition, the destruction of four „Grad“ MLRS in the Kherson region, which fell into the affected zone on September 12 of this year, and the occupiers‘ food warehouse in Dokuchayevsk were confirmed.
