Ukraine/Russland/NATO – der Sammler am 13. Dezember 2022
The Biden administration is finalizing plans to send the Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine that could be announced as soon as this week, according to two US officials and a senior administration official.
The Pentagon’s plan still needs to be approved by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin before it is sent to President Joe Biden for his signature. The three officials told CNN that approval is expected. (…)
Once the plans are finalized, the Patriots are expected to ship quickly in the coming days and Ukrainians will be trained to use them at a US Army base in Grafenwoehr, Germany, officials said.
Auch AP berichtet von diesen Plänen:
The U.S. is poised to approve sending a Patriot missile battery to Ukraine, finally agreeing to an urgent request from Ukrainian leaders desperate for more robust weapons to shoot down incoming Russian missiles, U.S. officials said Tuesday.
The approval is likely to come later this week and could be announced as early as Thursday, said three officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision is not final and has not been made public. Two of the officials said the Patriot will come from Pentagon stocks and be moved from another country overseas.
Ukraine is stepping up efforts to isolate and degrade Russian forces in and around Melitopol, a city in the Zaporizhzhia region that would figure prominently in any Ukrainian offensive to drive Russian forces from southern Ukraine.
Kyiv has been using long-range precision missile strikes, sabotage missions and targeted assassinations to put pressure on the city, which is known as the “gateway to Crimea” because of its location at the crossroads of two major highways and a vital rail line.
Officials in both countries have acknowledged the recent attacks on Russian command centers, ammunition depots and supply routes in Melitopol, whose prewar population was about 150,000.
• Das britische Intel Update:
On 12 December 2022, the Kremlin confirmed that President Vladimir Putin will not hold his traditional end-of-year press conference.
This will be the first time in 10 years that Putin has not held the annual event, while the usual public phone-in also did not take place this year.
The press conference has become a significant fixture in Putin’s calendar of public engagement and has frequently been used as an opportunity to demonstrate the supposed integrity of Putin.
Although questions are almost certainly usually vetted in advance, the cancellation is likely due to increasing concerns about the prevalence of anti-war feeling in Russia.
Kremlin officials are almost certainly extremely sensitive about the possibility that any event attended by Putin could be hijacked by unsanctioned discussion about the ‘special military operation’.
• Das Morgenbriefing des ukrainischen Generalstabs:
Operational update regarding russian invasion as of 06.00, December 13, 2022
The two hundred ninety-third (293) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the russian military large-scale invasion continues.
russian occupiers continue to carry out full-scale armed aggression against our country, they do not stop striking civilian infrastructure objects and civilian homes on the territory of Ukraine, violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of warfare.
The enemy continues to focus its efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Zaporizhzhia directions. In other directions, the enemy is trying to restrain the actions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, shelling the positions of our troops and civilian objects along the entire line of contact, carrying out engineering equipment of defensive lines and positions.
Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Novoehorivka, Makiivka, Chervonpopivka, and Bilohorivka of the Luhansk oblast and Verkhnyokamianske, Soledar, Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Avdiivka, and Maryinka of the Donetsk oblast.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy shelled areas near the settlements of Vremivka, Vuhledar, Neskuchne, and Prechystivka in the Donetsk oblast with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to shell our positions and the civilian infrastructure of the settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. It carried out shelling from tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of more than 25 settlements, in particular: Plavni, Hulyaipole, Dorozhnyanka, Olhivske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, as well as Chornobayivka, Antonivka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Mylové, Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson.
In order to replenish the losses and staff the units of the first army corps of the occupying forces, measures of forced mobilization were intensified in the territory of the Donetsk oblast. Therefore, in the city of Horlivka, men are subject to conscription, in particular those with the „reservation“ mark on their military tickets.
On December 11, the enemy lost up to 60 servicemen killed and up to 100 wounded in the area of Kadiivka settlement of Luhansk oblast as a result of the destruction of the personnel deployment point of the russian occupation troops.
The hitting of the enemy by the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the previous days in the Zaporizhzhia oblast was confirmed. Thus, in addition to the destruction of the command staff of the 58th Army in the city of Melitopol, three artillery systems, up to 10 units of military equipment of various types were destroyed in the areas of Enerhodar, Tokmak and Hulyaipole settlements, and about 150 enemy servicemen were wounded.
Units of missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 2 areas of concentration of personnel of the russian occupiers.
Bzgl. meines vorangegangenen Posts:

My 5cts.
„SAMP/T Mamba“
1,7 bzw.
@Dominik

@Dominik & Schlammstapfer
>>> Royal Marines deployed on ‘high-risk covert operations’ in Ukraine <<<
"Lieutenant General Robert Magowan said that the commandos supported “discreet operations” in a “hugely sensitive environment”. He said that their missions carried “a high level of political and military risk”.
(The Times, Wednesday December 14 2022)
@Schlammstampfer:
@Schlammstapfer:
@Dominik
